Dump cake is an EASY dessert to make that brings back a lot of childhood memories for me (my mom made it a lot for special occasions when I was young). ¬†Best thing about it is it tastes amazing when baked on the Grill Dome! ¬†There’s something about that hint of charcoal flavor that really makes this dessert stand out at backyard BBQ’s and tailgates. ¬†Check out the full recipe video below. ¬†Enjoy!

Dump (or spread…) the ingredients into a 13″ x 9″ baking pan in the order as listed below.

20 oz can crushed pineapple
20 oz can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1 bag of pecan pieces
2 sticks butter or margarine

Set up your Grill Dome for an indirect cook using the Grill Dome Indirect Cooking Rack, Ceramic Stone and Extender Rack accessories. Preheat your Grill Dome kamado to 350¬į and bake the dump cake for 45 min to 1 hour. It’s done when the top is golden brown and bubbling. Serve warm or cold….it’s great either way. There’s also no need to refrigerate the leftovers as long as it’s covered and eaten within a few days.
