Walter Jetton’s Dry Rib Seasoning

Walter Jetton was pitmaster to President Johnson during the 1960’s. He prepared barbecue meats for leaders from around the world and this is his recipe for rib rub. This is for sprinkling on spareribs before you barbeque them. Use heaping measures when you are mixing it and do not skimp when you are using it. This Mop was posted with and for use in the Walter Jetton’s Triple-H Spare Ribs
Ingredients
  • 6 Tbsp Salt
  • 6 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp MSG (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Dry Lemon Powder (May sub – Lemon Pepper Seasoning)
  • 1 Tbsp Paprika
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container
  2. Yields about 12 oz.
