Famous Shack BBQ Sauce |

Famous SHACK barbeque sauce recipe (Little Rock, Arkansas): – BBQ, tasty, tangy, and unforgettable. SHACK barbeque sauce goes well as a marinade sauce on any meat.
Ingredients
- 3 – 24 oz. bottles Ketchup. (Use the plastic ones, we will refill after making sauce.)
- Above 3 – 24 oz. bottles filled with hot water. (Swoosh around before dumping contents into bowl.)
- (Original recipe uses Grapette.)
- 1 qt. Vinegar (Anywhere from a pint to a quart)
- 1 – 4 oz. can Chili Powder
- 1 – 4 oz. can Black Pepper
- 1 – 4 oz. can Garlic Salt (SALT, NOT garlic powder!!!)
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 – small Tabasco (1 to 4 oz.) Start at 1 oz and adjust to taste.
- 1 – small Yellow Mustard (size of an apple)
Instructions
- Mix ketchup, water and vinegar in a large bowl and transfer to a large pan on “high”.
- Place remaining dry ingredients into bowl, mix thoroughly and place in the pan as it approaches a simmer
- Stir enough to make it evenly liquid.
- Bring to a boil and immediately lower heat to a simmer and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring fairly often to avoid sticking.
- Remove from heat and pour back into the bottles you saved. You will need extra bottles.
- Yields about a gallon.
