Independence Day Rib Slather

Use with “Independence Day Ribs”
Ingredients
  • 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • ½ Cup finely chopped Vidalia (Sweet) Onions
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 (8 oz) Cans Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Cup Light Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Cup Apple Juice
  • 2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 2 tsp Freshly Ground Black Powder
  • ½ tsp Louisiana Hot Sauce
Instructions
  1. Melt the Butter in a 2-1/2 qt saucepan over medium heat. Add the Onion and cook until the onion is wilted about four minutes. Add the garlic and cook another 2 minutes.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep the sauce warm for service.
