Smoked Beef Brisket Finishing Sauce

Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 medium Onion, minced
  • 4 medium Garlic Cloves, minced
  • ¼ Cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ Cup Cider Vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp coarse-grain Mustard
  • 1 tsp Celery Seed
  • ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ tsp cracked Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp coarse Kosher Salt
  • 1 Cup Ketchup
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in 2 1/2-quart saucepan over medium heat; add onion and garlic, cook until softened,
  2. about five minutes. Stir in all the remaining ingredients except ketchup and bring to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add the ketchup. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  4. Using an immersion blender or food processor, process sauce until smooth. Serve warm. (Makes two cups of sauce)
