The Pig Slather “Sweet Suace”

This is a Memphis-style sweet sauce that works well on ribs, pulled pork and chicken.
Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted Butter
  • ¼ Cup chopped Yellow Onion
  • 1 ½ Cup good quality Ketchup
  • ¼ Cup Chili Sauce (prepared, or home made – Link)
  • 3 Tbsp light Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp dark Molasses
  • 2 Tbsp prepared Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp granulated Garlic
  • ½ tsp coarse Kosher Salt
  • ½ tsp ground Black Pepper
Instructions
  1. In a 2 ½ qt. saucepan over medium heat, cook the onion in butter until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients; stir well to incorporate. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for 15 minutes.
