This is a Memphis-style sweet sauce that works well on ribs, pulled pork and chicken.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp unsalted Butter
- ¼ Cup chopped Yellow Onion
- 1 ½ Cup good quality Ketchup
- ¼ Cup Chili Sauce (prepared, or home made – Link)
- 3 Tbsp light Brown Sugar
- 3 Tbsp dark Molasses
- 2 Tbsp prepared Yellow Mustard
- 1 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- ½ tsp granulated Garlic
- ½ tsp coarse Kosher Salt
- ½ tsp ground Black Pepper
Instructions
- In a 2 ½ qt. saucepan over medium heat, cook the onion in butter until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients; stir well to incorporate. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for 15 minutes.
