This sauce goes with and for use in the “Carolina Pulled Pork”.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 medium Onion, minced
- 4 medium Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 Cup Cider Vinegar
- 1 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tbsp dry Mustard
- 2 Tbsp dark Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp hot Hungarian Paprika
- 1 tsp coarse Kosher Salt
- 1 tsp ground Cayenne Pepper
- 2 tsp crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp cracked Black Pepper
- 2 Cup Ketchup
Instructions
- Heat oil in 2 1/2-quart saucepan over medium heat; add onion and garlic, cook until softened, about five minutes. Stir in all the remaining ingredients except ketchup and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and add the ketchup. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes.
- Makes about four cups (enough for three pounds of pulled pork).
