“Bacon Explosions”, or sometimes referred to as “Fatties”, “Bacon Fatties”, “Pork Fatties” or “Bacon Bombs”…. are a BBQ appetizer classic that are easy to cook and super tasty.

This recipe is a take off Jason Day’s “Bacon Explosion” creation from late 2008. All you have to do is fill ground meat (sausage, beef or pork) with whatever ingredients you want then wrap it all up tightly with the ground meat. Then, wrap the entire thing with BACON! 🙂

From there, toss it on the Grill Dome and cook them indirect at anywhere between 225° – 275° for 1 – 1 1/2 hours. These are great for parties, tailgates, beach trips and camp outs. Video with step by step instructions below. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

Ground pork
Thick cut bacon
Sliced ham
Chopped red onions
Chopped bell peppers
Pineapple chunks or tidbits
Shredded cheddar cheese
BBQ rub
Sweet BBQ sauce
