MemphoManiac’s Sesame Wings!
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of wings (separated)
- 1.5 cups of honey
- 3/4 cup of Dijon mustard
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 2 Tbs of sesame oil
- 1 Tbs curry
- 4 cloves of garlic
- black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of sesame seeds
Instructions
- Combine honey, mustard, lemon juice, curry powder, garlic, sesame oil, and pepper and pour about 3/4 of it into a Glad bag. Save the rest for brushing on the wings. Add the wings and marinate for at least one hour.
- Set up the GD to cook direct at around 300. I added coffee chips for smoking, but use whatever you normally use for chicken. Periodically (about once every 10 minutes) brush on the remaining marinade/glaze and flip the wings when you think you need to. Give the grate a quarter spin at the same time to ensure even cooking. I usually cook wings to a 180 degree internal temp. Some say they’re done at 160. These took about 30-40 minutes to get to 180.
- While the wings are cooking, toast the sesame seeds on a cookie sheet at 350. Takes about 10-15 minutes.
- When the wings are done, arrange them in a single layer and sprinkle the seeds onto the wings.
